…Can’t help but wonder if it’s more than a coincidence TSE and Naruto Shippuden had their respective finales a week apart on Crunchyroll. That said, I’m sure I’m reading a bit too much into the subject. LOL.

I’m fairly certain this Anime will get an official English Dub. It’s already mega popular in the U.S. thanks to Crunchyroll. I started watching TSE last Fall purely by accident and knew it was something special. Watching how the lead protagonists developed and matured was pretty cool. Even though the series is done, there is plenty of material available to make a spinoff series or something.

Most of the cast was quite memorable. The only two I absolutely hated overall were Kinako and Yuto because of how 1-dimensional and shellow they both felt for separare reasons. Kinako’s Benio complex aside, he was clearly meant to be the comic relief but Rokuro can hold that role down just fine on his own. Yuto’s Rokuro complex aside, he got virtually no development. At least Kinako got a proper backstory. With Yuto, it’s revealed he was never supposed to exist in the first place and has no reason to exist. In fact, his existence was a mistake and shouldn’t have happened while his twin sister Benio was fated.

The show is so-named because Rokuro and Benio, who are the most powerful Exorcist couple alive were destined to give birth to the most powerful Exorcist ever. Having saved the world and befriended some Kegare and Basara by the end of the series, rules are meant to be broken. The irony of course being Rokuro and Benio fall in love for real in the end. Having saved the world themselves, their original “purpose” is no longer necessary and the worldwide threat of Magano has been neutralized. Even so, their kids will be insanely strong. Comes with Rukuro technically being a Kegare and Benio having the most dense spiritual power.

TSE is the first Anime series to have over 26 episodes in several years now. If you watch, you can take it slow. Overall I give the series an 8/10.
